Boundaries of Midtown Omaha NE

What are the boundaries of Midtown Omaha NE?

Midtown Omaha, Nebraska, is the historic heart of the city of Omaha. Thanks to significant redevelopment and promotional efforts within the last five years by developers both large (Mutual of Omaha's Midtown Crossing at Turner Park) and small, Midtown is gaining popularity as a great place to live, work, and spend time.

I recently hosted an open house in Central Omaha around 84th and Dodge, and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of first time homebuyers who are interested in learning more about purchasing real etate and living in Midtown Omaha NE. What are the general boundaries of Midtown Omaha NE? Let's take a look at the generally accepted boundaries that most people would currently consider Midtown Omaha, Nebraska.

So Where is Midtown Omaha?

Midtown Neighborhood Alliance Map

Midtown Omaha is a collection of neighborhoods. As described by the Midtown Neighborhood Alliance, there are organized Midtown Neighborhood Associations that stretch roughly east-west from 20th Street to 72nd Street, and north-south from Hamilton Street to Center Street and Interstate 80.

Each neighborhood has a unique character and history, and all have hidden architectural gems that you should explore.  The neighborhoods with formal associations include: Ak-sar-ben/Elmwood, Bemis Park, Blackstone, Columbus Park, Dundee/Memorial Park, Elmwood Park, Field Club, Ford Birthsite, Gifford Park, Hanscom Park, Joslyn Castle, Leavenworth, Morton Meadows, North Gold Coast, Thornburg Place, Park East, and Walnut Hill.  Some neighborhoods like Dundee and Field Club are well known locally, and others like Gifford Park and Park East have undgergone recent and significant redevelopment and are hot up and coming areas.

Midtown Omaha has become such a popular and revitalized destination that I expect the number of organized neighborhoods to grow in the future. Do you live in Midtown? Check your neighborhood by entering your address here.

What a great write-up about Midtown, Omaha. I'm not surprise to learn that it is attracting buyers; we see the same thing in and around San Francisco.

Nicely done!  There are quite a few new condos going up in downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul, too.  Many younger buyers want to live near where they work, and many retirees just want to be near the action and away from the trees, and bushes and lawnwork!

Very good post, Christi. I used to live in Kansas City. Had many a relative in Omaha, so ventured there often as a kid. GREAT TOWN! Great place to call home! Best of everything to you in your career!

I strongly suspect this blog post is going to get a lot of consumer traffic as time.  (I wrote a similar type post for my area and I'm continually shocked about how much traffic it gets.
